Collaboration of the Year Award winner 2020: Pim Moerman and Rob van den Eijnden Royal Philips

winner collaboration of the year award 2020

Who are Pim Moerman and Rob van den Eijnden, Royal Philips, our winners for the Innovative Insurance Programme of the Year Award?

In 2017 we set the following problem statement: How to increase operational business resilience to lower the business risks by, amongst others, having real-time insights on any effects within our supply chain?

To drive innovation in the company’s resiliency, Philips is undergoing a global transformation to bring the right information to the teams who need it across different domains and functions. Our innovative integrated approach turns real-time data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions in a time of peace or crisis.

Moving towards the highest level of Business Resilience maturity, this cross-functional collaboration enables proactive risk mitigation and reduction of impact on Philips employees,
businesses and its’ customers.

Different risk categories are managed in Philips by teams in multiple departments, focusing on own Centers of Expertise. Key is how
the several teams, working on their part of the company’s resiliency, could work together by breaking down the silos between
departments to contribute to Philips’ mission of making the world healthier and more sustainable through innovation with the goal
of improving the lives of 3 billion people a year by 2030.

What did the judges say about the winner:

Pim Moerman and Rob van den Eijnden: Their collaboration has brought together and aligned all components of the company in risk management by developing new technology. The Philips Global Resilience Platform they have developed makes their company more resilient by breaking the department silo approach. They hope this initiative will inspire others in the industry.
