Faced with a hard insurance market, risk and insurance managers are going back to basics and re-examining the options, often called alternative risk transfer or ART.
The options range from the well established captive insurance route to parametric insurance solutions and capital markets instruments. Each alternative has advantages and disadvantages, but can offer useful risk management features.
