Switzerland – Annual SIRM Forum

SIRM – Swiss Association of Insurance and Risk ManagersOver 150 risk managers, brokers and insurers gathered at SIRM’s annual meeting on the 4th and 5thNovember in Pfaeffikon, near Zurich.

The first afternoon, during which members of the SIRM had various presentations, in particular on the recent FERMA Benchmarking Survey or a presentation on Employee Benefits, was followed by an always appreciated evening drinks and gala dinner.

The following morning, after a welcome address from SIRM’s President Sabrina Hartusch and FERMA’s president Julia Graham, the floor was given to various speakers, whose  ask was to talk about the topic “Revision of the Insurance Contract Law – A new start”. The participants had the opportunity to hear the position of various stakeholders, in particular representatives from the Federal Department of Finance, from the Swiss Insurance Association, from the Swiss Insurance Brokers Association and from the Swiss Association of Insurance and Risk Managers.

At the end of the presentations, a panel discussion, moderated by a representative of the Swiss Parliament, generated questions and discussions and could allow everyone to see that, after a slow start, the revision of the Insurance Contract Law seems to be now on the right tracks.
