Who is Rohini de Waard, our winner for the Rising Star Award 2020?
Rohini is based in the Netherlands. She has been with Vopak, who is the world’s leading independent tank storage company, for nearly five years. Prior to that, she worked for an insurance firm, Sompo Canopius, as a Claims Manager for over 10 years. After her study for Business and International law (Leiden), she started working at the claims department of the insurance company Sompo. In 2016 she moved to Royal Vopak N.V., into the position of insurance manager, a member of the risk management team. At the same time, rather immediately, she joined NARIM as an active member. Being a NARIM member she has been with all member meetings, seminars and congress. Young and enthusiastic, she took part in the panel discussions at the NARIM congress 2018, together with senior market partners Zurich and Meijers. At Royal Vopak, she acts as a team player both within the company and with its stakeholders. With a good understanding of the corporate environment of her employer, the insured. And given the few years of activity in Risk- & Insurance management, she acts in high-quality performance, managing the risk areas and challenges of insurance, claims and risks, continuously looking for further options for developments. Finally, eager for her challenges in her career, she is ready for the next step in a leadership position in Risk & Insurance.
