An ambitious new programme with views on risk from fresh perspectives is the promise of the 2017 FERMA Forum from 15-18 October, Risk manager in pole position – steering risks in turbulent times.

The Forum programme committee has been determined to bring something new to the attendees, especially to risk managers, and provide a broad European point of view for each topic. “Plus,” said committee chairman Gilbert Canameras, “It is impossible to avoid talking about the global geopolitical worldwide situation”.

The programme is based on the three themes: leadership, education and communication. Each day is built on the same scheme:

• A keynote speaker to introduce the theme;
• A high-level panel to develop topics about the theme;
• Workshops so risk managers can explore different aspects of the theme.

“Of course,” said Gilbert, “we will make reference to the famous Monaco Grand Prix Formula 1 annual motor race. We share a lot of things with motor sport: risks, prevention, performance, team work innovation, risk transfer and crisis management. And just like racing teams, we aim to start in pole position.”
