FERMA calls upon the European Commission to consider the views of risk managers in its reflections on sustainable corporate governance.

On Monday 8 February FERMA submitted its response to the European Commission’s public consultation on sustainable corporate governance. You can find our response by clicking on the thumbnail image below:

As a short summary of our response, FERMA highlighted that any initiative on sustainable corporate governance will have a direct impact on the risk profile of an organisation.

It is therefore crucial that the voice of the risk management profession is heard in the Commission’s reflections.

Background

In October of 2020, the European Commission launched a public consultation on (a) possible initiative(s) on sustainable corporate governance.

For the Commission, it is crucial that sustainability is further embedded into corporate governance.
