The Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA) has announced its 2015-2016 executive committee ahead of the 2015 FERMA Risk Management Forum and the start of the term of its new President, Jo Willaert. Three new vice presidents will join the executive committee together with Gilbert Canameras from the French association AMRAE who has become FERMA’s Secretary General.

The new vice presidents are Cristina Martinez, Isabel Martinez Torre-Enciso and Dirk Wegener.

  • Cristina Martínez is a board member of the Spanish risk management association IGREA and Group Chief Risk Officer at SACYR, a multinational infrastructure and service company.
  • Isabel Martínez Torre-Enciso is a board member of the Spanish association AGERS, Professor of Corporate Finance at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) and Vice President of ACdP.
  • Dirk Wegener is a member of the German associations DVS and bfv and Global Head of Corporate Insurance at Deutsche Bank Group.

They fill vacancies on the executive committee left by Michel Dennery, who had come to the end of his mandate as vice president, and Alessandro De Felice who stood down from the FERMA board in June when he was elected President of the Italian association ANRA. Gilbert Canameras takes over the secretary’s general’s role from Helle Friberg.

Incoming FERMA President Jo Willaert warmly praised Michel’s contribution to FERMA particularly the development of professional Certification for risk managers, which Michel will continue to lead as a board member and chair of the working committee. Jo said: “The launch of the Certification project at the Forum in Venice will be the start of an exciting journey to a higher recognition of the role of the risk manager. I’m very grateful to Michel that he will continue to chair the project during my presidency.”

Jo will become President of FERMA on 7 October at the conclusion of the FERMA Forum in Venice. Current President Julia Graham has agreed to remain engaged with the FERMA Executive as Immediate Past President until her term of office as a FERMA board member comes to a natural conclusion at the next General Assembly in June 2016.
